Bee Love Summer Fresh Art Prints & Notebooks

Introducing our new “Bee LOVE” illustration! My ode to all things wildflower, garden blooming, and crop pollinating.

Our “Bee LOVE” illustration has a sweet double meaning, by adding more love and joy into the world. Something every single body needs more of, no matter who you are. ❤️

Bee LOVE art print, in Sweet Cream. Also available in Crisp White and Garden Green.

ART PRINT DETAILS:

⇒ The art print versions of  our “Bee LOVE” illustration comes in 3 colorways: Garden Green, Sweet Cream, and Crisp White.

⇒ All color options shown below.

⇒ “Bee LOVE” is also available in 3 standard US sized frame options too: 8×10 inches  / 11×14 inches (as above) / and 13×19 inches (as below) too.

From top left to bottom left: Colorway options are: Garden Green, Sweet Cream, and Crisp White. Framed “Bee LOVE” art print shown is 11×14 inches.

Our Bee LOVE giclee art print in Garden Green, using a magnetic wooden slat print hanging system.

Adding to the double-meaning good vibes, we’ve released this design as both an art print and also double-sided sketch & notebook journals too.

Bee LOVE is also available as a beautiful new notebook, sketchbook or journal featuring a double-sided illustration of this field of tall flowers and a sweet honey bee on both the front and back covers. One side is Sweet Cream, the other side is Deep Garden Green.

Plan a garden, sketch your flowers, write your thoughts and embrace summer with us.

We love these sketchbook journals so much. The heavy duty paper is a dream and we’ve oriented the illustrations so that you get to choose which side and colorway (Garden Green or Sweet Cream as above) will be your front & back covers too. Yay!

Both the art prints of Bee LOVE and the Sketchbooks are available and ready to ship here at our website shop and also here in our Etsy store too.

Let’s Summer! 🌸

Detail close-ups of our “Bee LOVE” hand drawn design.

NOTEBOOK DETAILS:

⇒ With a sturdy black metal spiral binding, you can either use the dark green or the summer cream as your “front cover”. We laid our these journals so that when you flip your notebook over the artwork is facing the right way. So you get to choose which color is your cover! 🎨

⇒ Added bonus – these notebooks are perfect for left-handed folks too.

⇒  Sized at 7.5in x 10in our Bee LOVE notebooks are small enough to tote and carry easily. But large enough to actually jot down your thoughts, draw out garden plots, and/or sketch & make art. ❤️

⇒  32 heavy duty drawing paper pages and a matte velvet laminated softcover that feels great in your hands. 💙

The interior pages are a hefty 80lb card stock. That makes these garden journal sketchbooks pages a lovely, beefy, matte finish that’s a joy to sketch, draw, and write in and create. 💚

⇒ Record your thoughts, plan your garden, sketch with pens, pencils, or gouache paints, or just have the happiest to do list notebook ever! ✏️

My personal “Bee LOVE” sketchbook & pencil on our patio in the sun, ready to sketch!

National Aviary Maker Challenge – Roseate Spoonbill

The National Aviary is America’s only independent indoor nonprofit zoo dedicated exclusively to birds. Located in right here in Pittsburgh, on the historic North Side, The National Aviary’s diverse collection comprises more than 500 birds representing more than 150 species from around the world, many of them threatened or endangered in the wild.

On July 1, 2017 The Aviary announced The Maker Challenge, a partnership with the Monmade, which is trade group for creative, maker-based entrepreneurs that we are a part of here in Pittsburgh and we were honored to be among the 18 chosen local makers for The Maker Challenge.

The Maker Challenge features one local craft business, maker enterprise, or entrepreneurial artist each month who have been hand selected to create new and exclusive products for their gift shop. Each Maker was assigned a particular bird and month in the Aviary to highlight the conservation struggles and efforts worldwide for that particular species.

Our month is March 2018 and our special bird is The Roseate Spoonbill, a wading bird of the ibis family with distinctive white, buff-yellowand pink feathers. Once common, the Roseate Spoonbill was avidly hunted for its plumagein the US to near-extinction in Mid-to-Late 1800s. Now returning and found in the coastal Gulf regions of the Southern US, as well as in the Caribbean, Central and South America.

Shown here (and the last photo below) are some of the illustrations and designs that we created exclusively for The National Aviary to carry in their gift shop, and available there through the summer of 2019. Our suite of products include prints of all 3 of the above illustrations in 2 standard sizes (8×10 and 114×14 inches), as well as greeting cards, tea towels and canvas tote bags too.

As a part of our Maker Challenge Month, Allison did a silkscreen print demo at the The National Aviary onto blank greeting cards of our new Peace Dove design that also double as a coloring page that both the little ones and grown ups can color, (or leave as is in striking black & white) to frame or to send to friends and family. If you are heading to The National Aviary in March, definitely drop by the front entrance gift shop and check out our Roseate Spoonbill exclusive pieces, as well as the items from some of the previous artists in The Maker Challenge!

Calendars quite something, right? They help us keep track of time, but they can also help set a mood for the day. Let’s face it, of all of the things that we look at each & every day? A least a few should make you happy just by eyeballing ’em. My 2011 “Hello Birds” Calendar aims to do just that. It’s just a fresh new day with some bird friends, saying “Hello.” Pretty good start already!

Our 2011 “Hello Birds” Calendar comes in 2 versions, the one that you see here on crisp white paper, and next week there will also be a version on a wintery Spearmint to be released on 12/9/10. Your choice!

This happy day scene is my 9-color, hand screenprinted silkscreen print, loaded with overprints from my hand mixed poppy red, sun orange, sky cyan and forest green water based screenprinting inks.
