Hello Columbus! We’re heading to Craftin’ Outlaws this Saturday!

Bring it on Columbus, OH! We are thrilled to be a part of this year’s Craftin’ Outlaws Holiday show and we hope to see lots of friendly faces getting their Handmade Holiday shopping on too! It’s our first doing vending at this show, and we can’t wait.

WHAT:

Craftin’ Outlaws is now in it’s 9th year and will be held at Veterans Memorial in Downtown Columbus, so come on out and see that amazing Handmade greatness of over 90 vendors. And best, the first 100 shoppers of the day pick up a free screen printed tote!

Saturday November 16th from 10am – 5pm – ONE DAY ONLY!

Handmade Holidays ‘Ho!

The Holidays are just around the corner! Here is just a quick outline of our upcoming Holiday & Craft Show Schedule all featuring Handmade artists and makers, for the rest of 2013. (We will post more in-depth about each show approximately a week or so prior to each one.)

  • November 16th:  Craftin’ Outlaws in downtown Columbus, OH from 10am – 5pm at the Veterans Memorial. It’s out first time doing this show, so show Handmade some love Columbus and come on out! We’ll be there selling our wares with lots of our best Pittsburgh maker-friends too as well as over 95 other awesome Handmade vendors. For more info click here or the image below!

  •  November 22nd & 23rd: I Made It! For The Holidays in Homestead / Pittsburgh PA, at the Waterfront. New location! New wares! New fun for the Holidays! We’re excited to be a part of this nomadic show, with tons of amazing local artisans and crafty vendors. It’s become a Holiday tradition! So come join us on Friday evening, 11/22 from 5pm – 10pm and Saturday 11/23 from 11am – 6pm at The Waterfront, next to the Starbucks kiosk and start ringing in the Holidays Pittsburgh!   • December 7th: Handmade Arcade, in downtown Pittsburgh, PA at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Now in its 10th year, the amazing Handmade Arcade is sure to be just as spectacular as ever with over 8,000 visitors & shoppers coming out to find the best of the best by both local and nationally recognized artists and craft handmade makers. We are Crafty Bastards this weekend in DC!

Yep, that’s right. We are Crafty Bastards!

This coming weekend on Saturday September 28th & Sunday September 29th, 2013 we are so thrilled and honored to be a part of the amazing Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair in our nation’s capitol, Washington, DC at Union Market. This is the first year that Crafty Bastards is 2 days long and we will be there at Booth #15 for BOTH days, so we can’t wait to have double the fun.

The Washington DC City Paper’s Crafty Bastards Fair will be held outdoors on Saturday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013 in the Union Market parking lot. Admission is $5 each day (ticket price subject to change).

Important info about Crafty Bastards:

  • This show is a HUGE event and draws giant crowds to see the amazing set of the best of the best of handmade makers, crafters and artists from all around the US and beyond. Over 140+ vendors will be there, some on one day, others (like us) on both days. Check the vendor and scheduled list for info right here and a detailed map over here.
  • We’ll be at Booth Number 15 for BOTH Saturday & Sunday, (see map below), so come on by!
  • This is a ticketed and very busy show, now in its 10th year. Tickets are absolutely available for pre-sale here! Pre-sale 1-day passes are just $5, but with an equally amazing set of crafters coming on Sunday, make a weekend of it for $10 as both days will have different sets of artists and crafters!
  • Where:  Washington, DC at Union Market Union Market, located at 1309 5th Street NE and is accessible via the NoMa-Gallaudet University/New York Ave. station on Metro’s Red line.
  • When: Crafty Bastards runs from 10am to 5pm on both Saturday & Sunday 9/28 and 9/29.

Hello Chicago Renegade Craft Fair!

We’re back in the swing of craft & art show season things! And we couldn’t be more excited to be heading to Chicago, IL for the always amazing (and always free!) Renegade Craft Fair – Chicago edition, happening this Saturday & Sunday September 7th & 8th from 11am – to 7pm, both days.

The Renegade Craft Fair brings together over 300 of the best of the best of handmade makers and artists from all corners, setting up booths to meet, greet, and sell our work to the lovely people of the Midwest. This event is HUGE and not to be missed!

We will be there bright and early, and stayin’ late at Booth No. 6 (see our handy map below), so easy to find right near the corner of Division & Damen. Easy in, easy out. Come visit and say hello! We will have lots of hand illustrated and hand screenprinted Art Prints, Rock Posters, Alphabet Prints, Lunch Bear Bags, new greeting cards and more!

Handmade wares made by skilled artisans are happily one of the things that make holiday gifting so special in our fast-paced, high-tech world. Being a studio that truly hand pulls our silkscreen prints and posters, you better believe that we believe “Handmade Is best!” when it comes to finding that perfect gift for friends, family and co-workers for the holidays.

We’re Crafty Bastards! See you soon on November 10th Washington, DC!

We are Crafty Bastards! Yay! We’re so stoked to be a part of the amazing Arts & Crafts Fair Crafty Bastards again this year. It’s our favorite trip to Washington DC and definitely one of the best, funnest and most awesomely cool shows that we do all year.

We sincerely look forward to this show and can’t wait for this year’s new location at Union Market and new adventures with new and old friends.

Crafty Bastards brings together the very best of the best in the indie arts & craft movement and is only around for ONE day. And that day is this coming Saturday, November 10th from 10am – 5pm sharp. Rain or shine. Don’t miss out!

strawberryluna will be vending right smack in the middle from Booth #78 with lots of new Art Prints, Rock Posters, 2013 Sun Lion Wall Calendars, and brand new Test Prints (so fresh they are not even up in our webshop yet!), as well as classics like our Alphabet Prints and our Cardinal Seasons prints. On the road again! We’re so thrilled to be a part of one of our favorite shows of the year, the amazing Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago, IL.

Join us and over 300 (yep! Amazing right?) of the most talented and cool makers of handmade awesome in the country & beyond. We will have lots of new prints and posters and more, so don’t miss out friend!

Renegade Craft Fair is FREE to attend.

 When: September 8+9, 2012 from 11am – 7pm each day

Where: Along Division Street from Damen to Paulina in Wicker Park for the biggest + best Renegade Craft Fair of them all!

What: We’ll have hundreds of today’s greatest indie makers along with interactive workshops, tasty local food + booze, music + more. Get ready, Chicago, it’s going to be the best RCF yet!

Check out hands-on activities from Vogue Knitting (they’ll be leading make-and-take knitting workshops), the Chicago School of Shoemaking (you can stamp your own leather pieces and watch shoes being made by hand), Lillstreet Art Center (you can try your hand at using metal-stamping techniques to make your own pendant), the Student Art Therapy Association of SAIC (they’ll be leading worry doll-making workshops, a community weaving project, and a t-shirt necklace project), Girls Rock! Chicago (make a rad rock-and-roll button), the Urban Prairie Waldorf School (students from the school will be teaching you how to make jump ropes from organic fabrics), andPébéo (you can paint your own ceramic tile with their new paint pens). The Vintage Bazaar will host a pop-up vintage market at Renegade. Hello California Part 2: Los Angeles Renegade Craft Fair!

California Dreamin’ is our theme this July.

Los Angeles Renegade here we come! The amazing Renegade Craft Fair California Double-Whammy is still in effect with the upcoming 2nd show in our RCF California tour, Renegade Los Angeles!

Los Angeles Renegade takes place on 7/28 and 7/29 in the Los Angeles State Historic Park, (aka The Cornfield) featuring hundreds of top artists and crafters showing and selling their handcrafted work. Just for you! We’ll  have TONS of new prints and posters, as well and other goodies while vending and talking with lots of new and old friends. Renegade Craft Fair LA is not to be missed! Visit the awesome lists of artists here.

Renegade Craft Fair is always free to attend and full of super cool art, craft, lots of hands-on creative workshops by the Urban Craft Center, LA Zine Fest, and SideStreet Projects.  Capture a memory with the free photo booth provided by Magnolia Photobooth Co. Music by DJs from KXLU, tasty treats provided by LA’s best food trucks and there will even be opportunities to take adopt a new furry friend via Second Acts Animal Rescue! I Made It! Market Jr. show this Saturday

We are pleased as punch to be participating in the I Made It! Market Jr., edition of Pittsburgh’s nomadic craft fair this Saturday April 21st at Bakery Square in East Liberty / Shadyside.

It’s completely free to attend IMI! Jr., edition is only for one day! Don’t miss out on some super adorable small things for small folks.

We’ll have plenty of our Alphabet Prints, Baby & Toddler tees, nursery & kid-friendly Art Prints, and we will also be debuting “Lunch Bear”, the very first design in a new line of recycled cotton, reusable lunch bags too! Hoooray! It’s one of the funnest crafty road trips of the year for us, and we’re talking about hitting the highway for the amazing Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair this Saturday 10/1 in our nation’s capital, Washington DC.

On the road again! Hello Chicago! We’ve been so busy working on new things & packing that we almost forgot to post about our next craft fair, the awesome and 9th annual Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago. We’ll be in attendance and vending from our booth, #23, check the maps below, and we just can’t wait to see The Windy City again and be a part of the amazing Renegade Craft Fair once again this year.

Renegade Craft Fair is such a special and amazing, totally FREE event featuring over 300 artists working in just about every Handmade field and medium you can imagine. Hoooray! Who doesn’t love a trip to the Big Apple? And Brooklyn’s just lovely this time of year.

We’re working around the clock to get ready for one of the biggest craft shows of the year, the super dupes Renegade Craft Fair, Brooklyn edition. We’re debuting a new series of giclee prints that we’ve been working on this Spring, as well as new rock posters, new art prints, and new a new line of baby & toddler tees too.  Can’t wait!

With over 300 of the best makers, crafters & artists from all over the world, the 7th annual Renegade in Brooklyn is sure to be a blast. Renegade Craft Fair is free to attend and very family friendly!

Thank you Chicago!

Chicago & The Renegade Craft Fair Gang? You are fantastic. Thanks to everyone who came out to shop and check out the 350+ artists and crafters at the 2010 Renegade Craft Fair in Wicker Park, Chicago. It was great getting to meet so many new people and to talk with old friends too.

After doing our usual fun convoy caravan with my friends Mark & Beth from Hero Design, I set off on my own to find my way into Roscoe Village in Chicago.

Forgoing the hotel route, this time I took the advice of a friend and tried out the website Homeaway.com to see if I could find a short term condo / apt. rental for our friends Beth & Joel from Rag Trader Vintage & myself to crash in while working Renegade. It took a little work and a lot of back & forth communication between a few different owners, but in the end it worked out beautifully. We found the Roscoe Village Guest House units, with a 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom place in the super pretty Roscoe Village neighborhood for less than a hotel, and, shoot. We had a kitchen & livingroom to relax in at the end of a long hard workday. I highly recommend them. And Rag Trader Vintage were my lifesaving booth neighbors, helping me set up & break down this time since I was working this show solo. Thank you so much guys!

Despite the potential for trouble with rain on Saturday morning, everything turned out tip top. The early morning rains on Saturday went from this:

To this within just a couple of hours and all was perfect for the rest of the weekend 🙂

All set up and in the sun. Yay!

And, holy cow geekery, we got a mention on the amazing design & lifestyle blog Apartment Therapy today in a post about first-time art buying, where our Beach House poster was the recommended print buy from the Renegade Handmade Store in Wicker Park. Thank you Apartment Therapy, you make me blush.

San Fran bound! Renegade Craft Fair SF, we’ll see you there :)

Hey lovely city of San Francisco, that I have never ever been to…can’t wait to meet you at the end of this month! That’s right, we here at strawberryluna are taking the plunge and adding another Renegade Craft Fair to our roster of craft shows that we’re doing this year. Super so duper excited to be accepted into this prestigious juried show too.

Tell me, what should do when we’re not working the booth at Renegade? I’m kind of partial to checking out the night tour of Alcatraz, as I’ve heard that it’s amazing. I’m also thinking about checking out the SF MoMA and the Cartoon Art Museum too, but welcome any suggestions. Please post comments and give us a shout out for other can’t-miss things to do and see in San Francisco, won’t you?

Join us for the The 3rd Annual Renegade Craft Fair in San Francisco on July 31 + August 1, from 11am – 7pm each day at the Fort Mason Center Festival Pavilion!

Always FREE-TO-ATTEND – the Bay’s favorite craft, art, design and DIY spectacular will feature over 225 of today’s finest indie-craft talents from all over the nation, craft-workshops , entertainment + other features!

You can expect to find all sorts of incredible handmade goods at the Fair! Get a sneak-peek of who will be setting up shop at this year’s San Francisco summertime event on our Artist Page!

We encourage attendees to ride public transportation or bicycle to the Fair! If you are driving, the Fort Mason Center offers low-cost parking on site, or there is street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

Renegade Craft Fair Brooklyn reminder! Come say hellos!

Just a quick reminder that I will be in Brooklyn, NY this weekend at the fabulous Renegade Craft Fair, and so looking forward to it!

Renegade Craft Fair is one of the premiere independent DIY showcases of all things art, craft, and handmade. Renegade Craft Fairs are held in several cities across the US every year – including Brooklyn, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles & Austin.  The fair is known for being one of the first events of its kind, and for having the top-notch indie-craft artists and designers who travel from all over the map to participate. Renegade got its start in Chicago’s Wicker Park in the fall of 2003, and has spread like wildfire ever since.

With over 300 artists coming together in historic McCarren Park in Brooklyn to sell our handmade work, this year’s Renegade Craft promises to be as amazing as ever, if not more so. There will live music and live craft demonstrations, as well as an hourly raffle of goodies at theEtsy booth too. AND!  Renegade Craft Fair is wide open to the public and 100 % FREE to attend too.

I’m going to have tons of new prints and posters and test prints, as well as lots of other new goodies too. So come say hi! We love love love meeting new friends at shows!

What: Renegade Craft Fair, Brooklyn

Where: McCarren Park, in the Williamsburg neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY at Driggs Ave + Lorimer St. + Bayard St. + Union St. (as above)

Cost: FREE!!!

Why: For cream of the crop handmade awesomeness.
